What will you do


The Procurement & Imports/Exports Supervisor will be responsible for Foreign Trade & Procurement in Colombia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and Peru - NOLA.

Will coordinate and supervise imports and exports operations through the continuous follow up of products and purchase orders against manufacturing facilities, distribution centers or design divisions.

This role will generate value in our Supply Chains through lead time and landing cost reduction.

  • Purchase orders followup_
  • Transfer PO ́s to manufacturing facilities. Follow Up on order acknowledgment and shipments.
  • Monitor cargo availability in CDCs (Central Distribution Centers) and MDCs (Manufacturing Distribution Centers) for shipments coordination on established dates and terms aligned with planning and purchases area.
  • Customs and trade compliance_
  • Guarantee import, and export processes are carried out in accordance with internal policies and procedures, within the established times, complying with all Stryker guidelines.
  • Ensure customs laws and regulations are enforced in the receiving and the exporting countries.
  • Provide the technical information and products tariff classification (HTS) required for customs valuation.
  • Submit immediate response to customs, regulatory and finance authority's requirements, when needed.
  • Control and address all documentation and documentation issues with origin in order to guarantee a steady flow of the import processes.
  • Will be accountable for the request and approval of Import Licenses.
  • Review and update all customs and transportation supplier's contracts.
  • Will be accountable for the relationships with Customs Brokers in the NOLA region.
  • Will serve as an expert opinion in regional and global Trade Compliance discussions.
  • International Freight_
  • The Procurement & Imports/Exports Supervisor will be the liaison with designated Freight Forwarders or Courier companies, the Transportation COE, and will coordinate pick up at origins.
  • Warehouse arrival_
  • Provide the corresponding shipments instructions and documentation in advance for correct warehouse handling.
  • Report and followup nonconformities or claims related to damages, shortages or overages of products against cargo agents and/or manufacturing plants.
  • Report discrepancies to origin and global CoE and request preventive actions to be implemented.
  • Cost control and metrics analysis_
  • Define the most suitable logistics mode and agents based on time and cost benefit analysis for each foreign trade operation.
  • Supervise the suppliers and agent's performance who participate during international transport and customs operations.
  • Issue and report monthly indicators associated with foreign trade processes, such as: Landing Cost, Broker Clearance Performance, Duty Savings
  • Free Trade Agreements.
  • Define action plans and methodologies for continuous improvement across foreign trade processes.
  • Approve and register all customs and transportation supplier's payments into Stryker ́s system guaranteeing contracts and rates complying.
  • Report to finance area: landing costs, transit inventory level, monthly purchase values for exchange covering, and documental archives.
  • Allocate appropriately all costs and expenses related to foreign trade operations.
  • Service Level_
  • Ensure the product supply on a prompt and accurate manner under efficient performance to deliver a satisfactory service to customers.
  • Support Sales projection by reporting product availability dates to customer service area on a weekly basis for sales projection.
  • Compliance_
  • Drives businesses complying all laws and regulations applicable including anticorruption policy (FCPA) and Stryker conduct code with the highest ethical principles.

What will you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Supply Chain and International Trade related fields.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Trade Compliance or International Trade
  • Minimum 2 years of Procurement experience
  • Previous experience as people leader
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory
  • Advanced Microsoft Office tools knowledge required
