The Opportunity As the Capacity Building, Transition, and Sustainability Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with LHSS team members to design, implement and monitor capacity building activities throughout the LHSS Colombia activity, as well as coordinating under the technical leadership of the health policy and governance leader the development of the program's Transition and Sustainability Plan (T&S) with each of the counterparts where implementation is defined as necessary.

Core Responsibilities

  • Advise the stakeholders of the activity at the various levels of the health system on the design and implementation of capacity building policies around the health response for the migrant population and host communities.
  • Coordinate efforts to strengthen the organizational capacity of territorial entities and prioritized communitybased organizations, to implement health policies for the inclusion of the migrant population and host communities to the health system.
  • Coordinate with the team of territorial specialists (capacity building and territorial management) and the rest of the LHSS Colombia team, advice, and support for capacity building in territorial entities and local partners.
  • Coordinate and implement, together with the leader in health and governance policies and with the Territorial Management, the Capacity Building Strategy of LHSS Colombia.
  • Support the development of interventions by the Governance and Policy Component established in the LHSS Colombia work plans
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities of LHSS, Colombia including indicator development, data collection and indicator reporting in collaboration with the MEL team.
  • Regularly report to the leader of the LHSS Governance and Policy Component on the status of capacity building and sustainability and transition processes.
  • Supervise and / or support in the supervision of consultancies, subcontracts, and / or grants that are assigned to it.
  • Support the project's MEL and Communications teams in developing case studies and success stories of LHSS activities in Colombia.
  • Generate the necessary reports.
  • Attend relevant meetings or conferences, participate with technical working groups, etc. to share knowledge gained from LHSS Colombia activities.
  • Responsible for actions and strategies of accompaniment to the staff under his supervision to work as a team with the Human Resources area for the benefit of maintaining and ensuring a good work environment focused on trust, teamwork and the development of personal and professional skills.

  • Know and be clear about the health and safety policy at work and comply with the safety and hygiene standards of the company.
  • Seek comprehensive health care and provide clear, complete and truthful information about their state of health.
  • Participate in the prevention of occupational risks through the activities carried out in the company.
  • Report the risk conditions detected to your supervisor and the Human Resources area.
  • Immediately report any work accident or incident.

What We Value

  • Bachelor's Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience
  • Undergraduate studies in health sciences and/or social sciences and/or political science and/or industrial engineering.
  • A master's degree or specialization in management, public policy, international development, public health, or another related field is desirable. Preferably have a focus on public health or a discipline related to health administration.
  • Minimum six years of previous experience working in providing technical assistance and capacity building to health policy decisionmakers at national or territorial level.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Colombian health sector.
