A Regional Information Security Manager (RISM) must coordinate Information Security matters in a subsidiary, individual business unit/department or region as a deputy of the CISO in his specific area of responsibility.

If required, a dedicated Information Security Officer must be appointed representing subsidiaries, region(s) or department(s). The focus of his activities must ensure that security activities are carried out in a timely and accurate manner, and that security issues are resolved effectively throughout his area of responsibility


Key Responsibilities:

  • The Regional Information Security Manager implements the division's approach to Information Security in his area of responsibility by:
  • Developing and maintaining a divisional Information Security strategy and sub-division-specific appendices to the Information Security standard, where necessary
  • Focusing on information, business, and compliance risks related to Information Security
  • Protecting sensitive information from disclosure to unauthorized individuals
  • Ensuring that new information systems are developed securely
  • Ensure all requirements coming from local regulations are in place
  • Local Information Security Manager (LISM) leadership
  • Attend Customer Requirements
  • Manage and perform delegated Information Security Projects, major activities and requirements
  • Ensuring that new information systems and solutions are developed securely
  • Audit current systems, procedures and make recommendations for changes / improvements
  • Lead Information Security Response Team when a major information security incident occurs
  • Develop and execute a plan to build an Information Security culture
  • Support and provide advanced security consulting and architecture (includes data protection and business continuity requirements)
  • In addition, the RISM must adopt the divisions' ISMS by taking the business unit circumstances into account. The ISO requires his reporting line to the CISO, to communicate the status of Information Security of his area of responsibility to the CISO.
Business Partner

  • Create strong relationships with the regional / global IT community to ensure maximum leverage of resources / solutions to support local requirements.
  • Support the Product Team by providing assistance in Information Security
  • Build strong working relationship with regional and country counterparts. Maintains close communication with stakeholders incl. Product, Service Level Management, Telecoms, vendors to ensure proper service provisioning and delivery into production.
  • Report on SLA KPIs and Performance of the Information Security to stakeholders

Skills / Requirements:

  • Strong experience in Information Security and information risk
  • Broad knowledge of IT and Information Security
  • Sound knowledge in most of the following fields (adapted from the Certified Information Systems Security Professional domains):
  • Security Management Practices

  • Telecommunications and Network Security

Expected years of experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Security
  • General experience at Servers, Network, Applications, End User Infrastructure level
  • Strong understanding of OWASP Application Security Verification Standards
  • Strong understanding of information risk and Information Security concepts (e.g. threats and vulnerabilities, the security controls required to reduce information risks)
Expected Educational Qualifications

  • University bachelor degree in a business discipline, Computer Sciences, Cybersecurity
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, ITIL, and other IT related certifications
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) / Spanish not mandatory but desired
