Job Description:


AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented and experienced Chief of Party (COP) to Lead our Climate Activity (IN4C) program.

The IN4C USAID program will leverage and mobilized public & private finance to support Colombia's adaptation and mitigation target.

The IN4C will aim to reach an impact at scale in its local interventions by expanding USAID work to mobilize finances for business and projects that reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission from agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU); promote clean energy ; and enhance climate resilience and reduce vulnerability while promoting local economic and social development.

The COP will lead all professional, technical, and administrative activities required for successful implementation. This position will report to Colombia Country Manager.

The COP will lead a multi-discipline team including financial specialists for climate change and smart projects, climate change team, the stakeholder's management public and private actors, including financial institutions, working in coordination with USAID, national, subnational, and community-level stakeholders, the COP lead work with sustainable Landscapes fund, clean energy and adaptation funds, work in regions with highest technical and financial potential to reduce GHG emissions and support climate adaptations actions also will work closely with marginalized population, including youth, women, AfroColombians and Indigenous communities, gender and sexual minorities, migrants and conflict victims to bring direct benefits for these populations

The COP will lead the delivery of the projects and other technical services. He/she is responsible for quality and compliant delivery of works under both subcontracts and grant mechanisms. The COP will be the primary point of contact with USAID in-country with based in Colombia.

The COP will bear primary responsibility for all technical aspects of work activity performance, as well as management-related requirements of the project such as procurement, personnel, reporting, and financial administration.

The COP position requires the vision to develop, coordinate and manage multiple simultaneous tasks, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to ensure coherence and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.


Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising a multi-functional team, provide leadership, technical direction, and quality oversight to achieve project objectives and meet all contractual requirements
  • Development and management of effective project strategies to achieve multiple integrated results in coordination with stakeholders and partners
  • Establishment and implementation of project processes and procedures needed to conduct the technical team and other services in multiple remote locations.
