Quality Control Specialist

Overview:
Principal Duties:
- Develop detailed and precise test cases covering all aspects and functionalities of the software.
- Execute tests, track defects, and generate comprehensive test reports.
- Uphold quality standards, conduct code reviews, and identify areas for improvement in process quality.
- Plan and design efficient testing strategies to achieve optimal results.
- Identify and report defects or issues discovered during testing.
- Propose solutions to enhance current processes and practices.
- Collaborate with the development team to accurately document and resolve defects.
- Analyze test results and evaluate whether the software meets established requirements and quality standards.
- Actively participate in continuous process improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the implementation of selected methodologies to guarantee software quality and security.
- Identify potential areas for improvement and suggest changes or enhancements to enhance software quality.
- Understand the needs of stakeholders and communicate effectively with them.
- Proactively propose creative solutions to address identified problems.
- Demonstrate agility in problemsolving and solution development.
- Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Knowledge:
- Experience in planning, designing, and executing software tests.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and development processes.
- Familiarity with different types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and security testing.
- Desirable familiarity with test automation tools.
- Knowledge of software testing tools like Postman.
- Familiarity with related technical areas such as databases, programming languages, web technologies, software architecture, APIs, and web services to identify potential quality issues.
- Skills in analyzing software requirements and specifications.
- Knowledge and experience in agile development methodologies.
- Desirable experience using JIRA.
Education and Experience:
- Professional degree in systems, computer science, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in similar roles.

Pay:
$4,800,000 - $5,500,000 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Medellín, Antioquia: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Experience:
- Software testing: 3 years (preferred)
- Software development lifecycle: 3 years (preferred)
- Agile methodologies: 3 years (preferred)
- Software testing tools: 3 years (preferred)
- JIRA: 2 years (preferred)
