AGIAMONDO e.
V.
is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation.

In the Civil Peace Service (ZFD), we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors.

The ZFD is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It works for a world in which conflicts are settled without violence.

Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Colombia, AGIAMONDO aims to contribute to civil conflict transformation there through peacebuilding measures.

To support the Comisión de Conciliación Nacional (CCN) we are looking for a
Consultant for Strategy Development and Networking (M/F/d) in Bogotá, Colombia.

Your new field of activity
Colombia is currently in a remarkable phase of its peace process.

After more than 60 years of armed conflict, a landmark peace agreement was signed in 2016 with one of the strongest rebel organizations.

The current government is more committed to implementing this agreement than its predecessor governments.

In addition, the government has begun peace negotiations with other illegally armed groups in the country and has already made initial progress, including the ELN.

The Comisión de Conciliación Nacional (CCN) acts as a reconciliation commission within the agreement to assist in various armed conflicts in the country.

In doing so, it advocates for the respect of human rights and peaceful politics.

CCN is seeking a dedicated professional to support the team in Bogotá and advance the work in the regions through expertise in international peacebuilding.

Specifically, you will undertake the following tasks:

  • You will support CCN and its partners in context and conflict analyses and develop proposals for peacebuilding activities.
  • You will participate in the planning and implementation of an educational communication strategy for truth, reconciliation, conflict transformation and advocacy.
  • You support regional pastorals in developing and implementing strategies and processes in the area of reconciliation and peace.
  • You promote exchange and networking between regional pastorals and the CCN.
  • You will be responsible for the proper spending and management of funds locally in accordance with donor guidelines and AGIAMONDO requirements. You will work in partnership with the colleagues of the partner organization.

Your profile:

  • You have a relevant university degree in a social science or humanities field such as political science, sociology, anthropology, peace studies or a comparable discipline.
  • You bring a professional experience of at least 5 years in dealing with various civil society actors, ideally also with church structures.
  • You have expertise in conflict transformation mechanisms and analytical methods/conflict analysis.
  • In doing so, you excel in knowledge of best practices in peacebuilding in (post)conflict countries. You have experience working in conflict zones and bring several years of international experience, ideally in Latin America.
  • Experience in communications/public relations as well as advocacy and political advocacy is desirable.
  • You are fluent in Spanish. A good command of English is an advantage. You are an EU citizen or Swiss citizen and identify with the goals and concerns of church development and peace work.
The AGIAMONDO offer

  • Individual and comprehensive preparation
  • Threeyear contract, social security and remuneration according to the Development Aid Act
  • Countryspecific, linguistic or other professional training as well as coaching and supervision, individual counseling
