Adriana María De Mendoza

I enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and projects, applying physics's predictive and explicative power into challenging problems. At the moment, I develop mathematical models to predict the therapeutic outcome of radiotherapy and hyperthermia treatments, applied with conventional techniques (thermal bath, focused ultrasound, microwaves, radiofrequency) or by the novel approaches offered by nanomedicine (radioactive and plasmonic nanoparticles)

My research experience is mainly in biophysics (quantum and classical) and applied thermodynamics, where I developed mathematical, physical, and computational models to predict the properties of real systems and the therapeutic outcome of medical therapies. Besides the training in physics, my bachelor's studies in engineering trained me in process theory and stochastic systems from a different standpoint, allowing me an interdisciplinary and applied perspective to approach physics problems.  Furthermore, my experience in various research groups and topics, and many years of teaching, have provided me with skills for teamwork, autonomy in research, obtaining results under pressure, analytical/logical approach to tasks, programming skills in different languages (C++, Fortran, Basic, and notions of Phyton) and the ability to perform adequately in spoken and written English.
