Soy un ingeniero mecánico. Entre otras habilidades, destaco por mi pensamiento analítico, capacidad para resolver problemas, habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar bajo presión. Tengo experiencia profesional en el sector del gas natural, gestión de activos y diseño de sistemas térmicos. Durante mi experiencia profesional, me he encargado de tareas como migrar y actualizar planes de mantenimiento, gestionar proyectos de ensamblaje, desarrollar mejoras focalizadas, brindar apoyo en la toma de decisiones técnicas, revisar e interpretar dibujos de ingeniería e informes técnicos, y analizar datos para medir el costo del ciclo de vida.

Mi formación académica incluye una Licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica y actualmente estoy cursando una Maestría en Ingeniería Mecánica, ambas en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en Medellín, Colombia.

Me interesa el uso de la inteligencia artificial para fines de ingeniería mecánica, el monitoreo basado en condición, el análisis de vibraciones, y el análisis y uso de dispositivos IoT.

Role and Period: 

Project Engineer / February 2020 – April 2022

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, drawing, and dimensioning steel lines, pressure vessels, filtration systems, heating systems, and similar equipment for compressed natural gas stations, Regulation Metering Stations RMS, compressed natural gas stations CNG, and vehicular compressed natural gas stations VCNG.
• Sketching and drawing specific designs in CAD programs such as Autodesk inventor and Solid Works.
• Elaborating, controlling, and programming deadlines, critical project lines, materials acquisition, etc.
• Elaborating technical documentation such as informs, bulletins, data sheets, technical specifications, and similar documentation related to the final product.
• Ensuring compliance with technical specifications, such as welding procedures, compliance with design codes and managing non-destructive test programs.
• Ensuring safety conditions related to labours, such as checking on high work plans, hazard evaluations, welding safety plans, etc.

Achievements:

• Installed natural gas equipment for fuelling a ~14000 kg/h fire-tube boiler. Specific activities included:
• Commissioning and remodelling of a 1500 Sm3/h natural gas Regulation and Metering Station (RMS), filled by CNG provider and coupled to an extra LNG provider station.
• Designing, constructing, and installing a high-pressure ~40 bar ANSI 600 coalescent/particle filtering system. The design of pressure vessels followed ASME B&PV Sec VIII Div. II design code.
• Designing, constructing, and installing a low-pressure ~4 bar ANSI 150 coalescent/particle filtering system. The design of pressure vessels followed ASME B&PV Sec VIII Div. II design code.
• Installed a high-pressure line (500 m) for the discharge of high-pressure ~250 bar compressed natural gas.
• Conducted the overhaul for corrosion protection of Regulating and Metering Natural Gas for Compressed Natural Gas stations.

Emvarias – GOMAC Group

Role and Period: 

Operational Excellence Engineer / September 2018 – April 2020.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate, create, and update vehicle resumes with clear records about their technical information, maintenance interventions, maintenance costs information, and other technical relevant aspects to measure the cost of the life cycle for vehicles of EMVARIAS S.A E.S.P.
• Use records and information collected in the measurement of the cost of the life cycle for decision-making criteria.
• Design, implement, and deploy a system of key management indicators to control the effectiveness of preventive maintenance plans while taking necessary actions to correct deviations.
• Generate monthly management reports on the execution of preventive maintenance and data analysis carried out.
• Stay in contact with maintenance contractors and the workshop manager to manage the logistical conditions for the performance of preventive maintenance.
• Verify the proper execution of preventive maintenance plans, generating timely alerts to the workshop manager, and proposing alternative solutions to minimize deviations in maintenance execution.
• Update preventive maintenance plans by performing permanent monitoring and analysis of records from variables that affect the maintenance performance.
• Establish and execute methodologies for inspections and validation of preventive maintenance execution.
• Support the design of procedures through process improvement and optimization strategies, guaranteeing the availability threshold for the fleet and toiletry equipment for the operation of EMVARIAS S.A. E.S.P.
• Collect and analyze information booked in maintenance and operation manuals to update maintenance plans and issue relevant recommendations to EMVARIAS E.S.P.
• Comply with the safety standards established by Colombian legislation, particularly paying attention to healthcare actions related to waste management and their biological hazards.
• Conduct continuous research processes to propose proposals that allow adequate maintenance management or provide greater reliability to assets.

Achievements:

• Built analytical models using statistical tools and learning algorithms for the analysis of operational records, historical maintenance records, and spare parts interventions.
• Used artificial neural network algorithms for the prediction of Remaining Useful Life using operational records and maintenance interventions as input variables.
• Participated in a project for the estimation of failure hazard rates and probability distribution functions for reliability, availability, and maintainability estimations of the fleet.
• Developed the FMEA analysis for the EMVARIAS fleet vehicles and updated the maintenance plans according to the resulting mitigation actions. FMEAs and hazard rates were established using the ISO 14224 standard and OREDA's handbook.

EPM-Empresas Públicas de Medellín E.S.P (Medellín – Colombia)

Role and Period: 

Reliability Maintenance Engineer / January 2017- August 2018.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate and update maintenance planning for Asset Management Policy. It includes the migration to IBM's EAM, called Maximum.
• Develop a spare parts catalog, correlating it with CAD drawings, providers, and inventory management.
• Design and building of focussed improvements. Mainly heating and cooling systems for natural gas Compression Natural Gas - CNG stations, and Regulation and Metering Stations - RMS.
• Provide technical decision-making support and engineering during corrective actions.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, and technical reports, data sheets and similar technical information.

Achievements:

• Designed a system for the admission and inter-stages cooling for two natural gas compressors, achieving an increase in the capacity of the gas package by nearly 20%, and expected energy consumption savings of around 3-4%.
• Introduced a guide for maintenance activities execution to reduce wasted time, re-interventions, and spare parts waste. Achieved a reduction of re-intervention work orders by around 10%.
• Developed the FMEA analysis for all compression and regulation stations managed by the maintenance team. Restructuring the maintenance actions, planning policies to approach a condition-based policy, and updating it in the Enterprise Asset Management - EAM Maximum. Taxonomy and FMEA were in accordance with ISO 14224 standards. 
• Installed automation systems for the change of compressed natural gas modules, achieving 100% of the planned goal in a year's time.
