Why this job is important

The People Operations Function is a dynamic and spread out across the globe. This role is an integral part of that team. Leading regional payroll teams and coordinating regional payroll operations, building scalable processes, and supporting compliance.

Collaborating with HR Service Delivery, COE's and global improvement specialists to further improve customer experience, simplify service and driving efficiency in a globally consistent operating model.


Essentially, you will be leading end to end, payroll delivery across the region, using data to lead and maintain service levels, standards, and customer outcomes.

Ensure timely controls and interventions are in place where needed as well as accuracy, efficiency, and compliance at local, regional, and global level.

What you'll be doing


Planning:

  • Work as the Operational lead for the area, formulating and delivering operational plans (demand, capacity, and capability plans)
  • Ensure team is adequately resourced whilst working within agreed budgets and headcount plans

Delivery:

  • Responsible for the successful management of the company payrolls for the region
  • Ensure a high degree of regulatory compliance while continually keeping note of and analysing the evolving regional regulatory landscape
  • Ensure governance and audit compliance, identifying risks, ensuring appropriate and relevant controls are established and attesting to these each month
  • Own and drive the implementation of projects and change affecting the payroll team, processes, and systems, ensuring a mínimal disruption to service

Problem solving:

  • Act as first point of contact for daytoday services within the region / area of responsibility and generate corrective actions to resolve and prevent future occurrences

Reporting:

  • Generate operational report, highlight performance, trends and any key service risk and issues
  • Use the service systems (Service Now) to measure and evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure performance is in line with agreed service standards, and use lead indicators to inform service intervention as needed before issues arise
  • Improve team performance by championing effective ways of working and high service delivery standards

Team leadership and development:

  • Attract, recruit, and develop the best people for the team
  • Ensure that people development requirements are planned and implemented to support the overall team, and service goals

Crucial:
Knowledge and Experience

  • Payroll practitioner with experience in international payroll
  • Strong systems and data maintenance knowledge
  • Experienced in owning an international and diverse team
  • Expert project manager
Specific Skills

  • Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office
  • Strong service ethos and skills supported by hands on customer service delivery experience in an office environment
  • Excellent numerical calculation skills
  • Meticulous and accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills ability to adjust communication approach to suit a situation
  • Experience of team management and performance development
  • Well organised so confident about working to demanding schedules
  • A good team worker with the ability to work effectively with staff at different levels of an organisation.
  • Ability to integrate with and function optimally as part of a lively, diverse and established team.
  • Proven understanding and respect for confidentiality
