    Job Description

    As a Linux DevOps Engineer, you will be the driver of both transformation and innovation. You will help design, deliver, and operate solutions for various business capabilities and must possess skills in Linux, automation, scripting, security, and networking fundamentals. You will help Rockwell move to a Cloud-Smart operating model that creates best-in-class, agile, and on-demand IT products and services.

    What you will do

  • Contribute to the configuration management effort for a large, diverse, and complex existing computing environment
  • Build, and maintain configuration standards
  • Build, and maintain landing zone automation for computing environments
  • Share knowledge and experience with team members and coworkers with a specific focus best practices on Linux and Unix operating systems
  • Improve monitoring and alerting across computing environments
  • Develop automated runbooks for common tasks and resolving support escalation issues
  • Contribute to and improve CI/CD tooling
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve application, development, and infrastructure through code
  • Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company
  • Builds relationships and interacts with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately
  • Think outside the box and explore new avenues to overcome obstacles by utilizing the latest technologies and standards
  • Minimal qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience managing Linux environments through automation
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
  • Scripting and automation skills (Terraform, Python, Git, Go)
  • Demonstrated experience in systems administration
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and to communicate effectively with customers
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools
  • Experience building cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Security consciousness in everything you do
  • An aversion to manually fixing repeatable operational tasks with an affinity for automation
