About the Job
Our remote patient care coordinator ensures that patients get the best care possible.

This individual will listen to patients and their families to ensure needs are being addressed, educate patients on medical procedures or conditions, keep patient records up to date, and act as a liaison between the patient and healthcare personnel by keeping the lines of communication flowing.

This individual will also be responsible for communicating with other medical practices and partners. If you're kind, compassionate and enjoy talking to people, this is the ideal position for you.


Responsibilities

  • Confidentially manage patient accounts
  • Schedule patient visits and answer previsit questions, including billing questions
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards & regulatory requirements
  • Provide patient consultations to determine preliminary fit for services
  • Discuss cost of service, insurance coverage, and payment options with the patient
  • Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible
  • Schedule any necessary appointments and follow up visits
  • Prep charts for providers and ensure all required documentation is on file
  • Complete prior authorizations and benefits verification
  • Scan documents into patient charts
  • Manage faxes and triage according to priority
  • Assist care team with setting goals for quality assurance and best practices
  • Provide community resources and referrals for continuing care
  • Assist in locating funding for special procedures or other patient needs
  • Take initiative to learn about the company and grow within the role
  • Identify process & technology improvements and escalate to management
  • Ability to think critically and creatively solve problems

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

  • Bilingual, fluent in verbal and written Spanish and English is required
  • Training/certification as a medical office assistant required
  • Experience working in the US healthcare system preferred but not required
  • Ability to work at least 8 hours each day, 5 days per week, Eastern Standard Time
  • Experience with biologics an asset but not required
  • Expert use of online systems and softwares including Voice Over IP (VOIP)
  • Expert use of Google Workspace
  • Experience working in Electronic Health Records
  • Experience using Slack and other business administration tools
  • A positive attitude & strong work ethic
  • A pleasant speaking voice when engaging with prospects and customers
  • Experience and willingness, working in a team environment
  • Excellent organization skills

Salary:
From $1,900 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Education:


  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Medical office assistant: 1 year (required)
Expected Start Date: 25/03/2024
