Role Description


The Configuration Control Manager will be accountable for ensuring that configuration management support is provided to both information management and engineering activities as applied to CCSM sustainment, CCSM LOTE and NPS TF aligned with the respective program objectives.


  • Act as the lead within Submarine Systems Engineering for Configuration Management and in particular the development and maintenance of the Configuration Management System;
  • Plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and process responsibilities to achieve business outcomes;
  • Provide a process for Configuration Management facilitating a governance role in the Configuration Management space for Submarine Systems Engineering;
  • Act as secretariat in design change decisions through the facilitation of the Configuration Control Board together with attendance at the requisite Engineering Review Boards and Interface Control Working Groups;
  • Achieves configuration control of Submarine System Engineering artefacts and outputs, including the management of requirements, source data, analysis and documentation, and the baselining of these as required;
  • Provides an effective Change Management function through the development and implementation of relevant processes and procedures;
  • Support, as required, the Submarine System Engineering Section Leads to maintain the AEO status;
  • Deliver high level advice to stakeholders in relation to the Configuration Management function and relevant supporting administrative guidance.
  • Develop, implement, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to the Submarine Enterprise.
  • Transfer skills and knowledge to the Submarine Division.

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of broad Configuration Control experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the maritime sustainment environment (preferably submarines). Alternatively, experience working with Navy, Defence, or marine engineering in complex systems is desired.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern Configuration Management tools and procedures.
