Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is seeking a passionate and dynamic
Regional Operations Manager to lead, direct and coordinate all the strategy, sales operations and administrative functions related to the Process & Chemicals end market (in principle) within Technical Consulting (TC) Americas in support of positioning the overall Wood Consulting organization with front-end scopes (technical due diligence and/or evaluations, conceptual, feasibility, and pre-FEED) in the conventional and new energy sectors.

The key accountabilities of the

Regional Operations Manager are to ensure:

  • Implementation of proposals, studies and projects assigned/owned by the Process & Chemicals group
  • Satisfactory execution of all the group's studies and project while achieving company's and project's quality, profitability and delivery requirements
  • Ongoing development of group personnel including strategic succession planning
  • Engagement with new Customers for busness growth
  • Support to define and implement business strategy.
The

Regional Operations Manager supports business development with the pursue of strategic opportunities while maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other third party providers.

He or she also provides business winning strategies to capture new project and/or studies opportunities for the Process & Chemicals group.

The

The responsibilities of the

Regional Operations Manager are to:

  • Ensure the Process & Chemicals group achieves a high standard in technical design using Wood, client, and industry standards and data in line with project requirements, providing support to advocates of new approaches.
  • Clearly understand commercial imperatives for a project; able to evaluate main threats to the commercial position and develop contingency plans to mitigate commercial risks.
  • Influence and direct customers towards what they need and away from what they want where these conflict.
  • Actively engage with and influence the development of the business strategy and direction
  • Where authorized by Director of Process & Chemicals
  • Americas, oversee business winning for the group's activities and provide permission to bid and management review for authorized proposals.
  • Collaborate and interface with the Process and Chemicals group of the Local Projects Business Unit
  • Develop the Process & Chemicals business plan including business and internal development strategies.
  • Provide and obtain resources and assistance to/from other managers within Wood and affiliates companies.
  • Ensure the content and objectives of Wood's Corporate Policies are implemented and understood by all group personnel.
  • Periodically review salaries of group personnel and make recommendations to the Director of Process & Chemicals
  • Americas for adjustment.
  • Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with relevant Work Practices

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years project delivery experience
  • A focus on Pre-FEED and FEED for Chemical/Process plants is highly preferred. Consutlancy experience in early phase study work (feasibility studies and conceptual engineering) is of the essence.
  • Minimum of 10 years project management and business development
  • Robust knowledge of process and chemicals market trends, project development strategies and related technologies
  • Must have experience managing consulting or study teams for the execution of projects
  • Demonstrated project and engineering management experience, with significant leadership ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to engage and relate to others (internal and external stakeholders) at all levels
