Overview:


The Accounting Manager reports to the Accounting Director and is responsible for supporting the North America Region controller team to ensure the integrity of the financial statements for North America.

The Accounting Manager will work in partnership with the NAM controller and the GBSC to ensure integrity of the financials, and where applicable enhance processes and internal controls over contra revenue.


Role:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Mastercard's key customer deals, revenue drivers at the market and product level and communicate this understanding with others
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and adhoc management reporting, including variance analysis
  • Track deals > $15M in total support that are expected to be signed, document change in status and ensure signed deals have been entered in CRS
  • Prepare deal performance review file to ensure accruals assumptions are in line with the actual performance for the period so that contra revenue is recorded accurately and timely
  • Prepare MyMPA Actual tracking and review file for review with NAM Planning team
  • Prepare the Asset Monetization tracking file to ensure that revenue is being recorded properly
  • Prepare the Manual forecast incentive review file for review with NAM Planning team
  • Partner with GSCB to ensure contra revenue is recorded accurately and timely, includes review of monthly close file, Asset Monetization entries, fixed performance incentives, SFDC extracted deals are completed in CRS, aging cleanup.

All About You:

  • Degree in financial or related field or relevant qualification in business, accounting and/or a related discipline and 5 years experience
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition and accounting under US GAAP
  • Knowledge of internal controls and operational procedures and processes; experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of accounting control implementation a plus
  • Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at the global/regional, local or corporate level
  • High attention to details and excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Hyperion & Oracle experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant or equivalent a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
