this role is based in Cartagena, Colombia
The British Government is currently recruiting an Administrative Support Officer to assist its government office in Cartagena, Colombia. The Administrative Assistant will provide financial and administrative support to both the Colombia team and the region.
Roles and responsibilities:
Provide general administrative support to the Cartagena team across a wide spectrum of activities, including:
- The translation and drafting of official documents and correspondence.
- Assisting colleagues with travel bookings.
- Coordinating logístical arrangements of events hosted by the team.
- Providing linguistic support for nonSpanish speaking trainers and visitors.
Financial management and reporting:
- Day to day financial record keeping.
- Negotiations with suppliers and processing of payments.
- Ensure correct and timely submission of monthly accounts.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls.
- Must have the legal status to live and work in Colombia.
- Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management, organisation and communication skills.

Spanish and English
Level of language required:
Fluent in both languages
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience - Previous finance experience.
- Possession of valid UK Government security clearance would be highly advantageous.
