Job brief

We are looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems. For example, you'll create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis. Overall, you'll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.


To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources.

Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of learning machine methods.

Responsibilities for Data Engineer

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / nonfunctional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with datarelated technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Skills:


  • Advanced experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and similar languages
  • UNIX shell scripting.
  • Strong coding Python skills.
  • Experience working with Airflow and Docker.
  • Experience working with some cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experienced with data modeling, design patterns, building highly scalable and secured solutions
  • Knowledge of agile software development process and familiarity with performance metric tools
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions; tolerance in dealing with bad quality data
  • Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)

Responsibilities:


  • Creates queries and reports from our databases to support and monitor.
  • Creates and merges inhouse files and forms; and strategizes new ways to optimize processes.
  • Monitors, and maintains pipeline schedules, for the different sources of information of the company.
  • Creates efficient tracking processes; develops reports to the different areas of the company.
  • Assists with data support to different company projects.
  • Evaluates system performance and design, as well as its effect on data quality.
  • Directly supports the engineering and development of SQL back end.
  • Collaborates with the reporting team to improve data collection and data reporting.
  • Perform complex data analysis/management tasks and provide support for related data warehouse infrastructure (SQL databases, scheduling and ETL tools, and key integrations).
  • Communicate proactively and frequently and modify technical information as needed so that it can be understood by stakeholders to enable their decisionmaking.
