We are looking for a senior backend engineer who's experienced and comfortable in a fast paced growth environment.This means that you're someone who:
- Loves building and pushing production features.
- Thrives in an environment where you own the majority of your projects from start to finish.
- Is a selfstarter and resourceful problem solver (i.e. you are a good communicator and enjoys bouncing ideas off of the team, but Google and Stack Overflow are your friends too).
- Unafraid of the ambiguousness we're figuring this out as we go, so directions may change abruptly, and you have an opportunity to help point the company in new and exciting directions. We promise that you will always have the same information that we do.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience using Typescript, and MySQL to build server side components such as RESTful APIS.
- Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Google Cloud, Bitbucket, SASS.
- Experience using some or all of the following AWS Services: IAM, EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, SNS/SQS, Route 53, EventBridge, DynamoDB and API Gateway.
- Experience writing performant, scalable SQL queries.
- Experience using automated infrastructure frameworks such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- An entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to solve business challenges with creative software solutions.
What you'll do:
- Work with our tech team to build the next generation of the Riskcast platform with an emphasis on the back end infrastructure.
- Participate in design discussions and translate business requirements into serverside domain logic.
