    3, is looking for a

    talented Justice Innovation Lab Expert, based in Colombia, on a part-time consultancy basis.

    As a Justice Innovation Lab Expert, you will design, facilitate and coordinate a municipal-level, multi-stakeholder, design-thinking lab in Colombia, together with the team in The Hague and Bogotá.HiiL is part of USAID's Colombia Inclusive Justice Activity, which aims to increase Colombian's confidence in justice by reducing levels of impunity, increasing access to quality justice, and promoting respect for the rule of law.

    The Activity pursues these goals through a focus on three objectives:

    Objective 1 :
    Contribute to reducing impunity by supporting improvements in the use of justice sector tools for the investigation, prosecution, and resolution of high-impact crimes

    Objective 2 :
    Strengthen conflict resolution amongst communities and local justice

    Objective 3 :
    Improve public trust in the rule of law.
    To achieve these objectives, we take a people-centred justice approach in program design and implementation.

    Under this approach, justice system improvement is focused on being responsive to people's justice needs, their experiences, and promoting citizen participation in the justice system and in a rule of law culture which enforces people's rights.

    This approach strengthens justice systems by creating a cycle that will allow reducing impunity, exercising a culture of legality, and enforcing the rule of law over the medium term.

Please keep readingHow will you contribute to our mission?Work together with the team to design interactive sessions, including exercises that encourage creative thinking and collaborative problem-solving among the participants.

    Ensure that the process allows for the exploration of diverse perspectives and encourages the development of actionable recommendations.

    Provide practical to support the participants and ensure the intended result of each session is reached;You adapt the Justice Innovation Lab methodology to both the municipal level and the Colombian context;You work together with the team to conduct stakeholder mapping.

    Identify the key figures needed to make the lab and its solution possible in terms of political support, financial sustainability, usability, etc.

    ;Lead Facilitation:

    Conduct a series of 4 design sessions with justice leaders, including government officials, policymakers, legal experts, representatives from civil society organisations, community leaders, and justice users.

    Foster open and constructive discussions, ensuring the active participation of all stakeholders;You provide facilitation guidance and training to the team who will be supporting you throughout the lab, particularly, facilitating during small group breakout sessions.

    You work together with the Justice Sector Advisor in The Hague to draft the proposal (including the financial plan) for the pilot project as designed in the Justice Innovation Lab sessions;You support the People-Centred Justice Expert in managing the relations with various stakeholders, in particular those from the justice sector.


    What we look in a new colleague :
    Has a

    Masters degree

    in a relevant field (e.g. social innovation, design, law, politics);Has

    three to five years

    proven experience working in social innovation, and preferably experience working with non-governmental organisations and/or governments;Has proven experience in

    developing and facilitating multi-stakeholders design processes

    and have profound knowledge of Design Thinking;Has experience in

    delivering design thinking programs , preferably in the public sector;Demonstrates an understanding of justice issues in Colombia and is able to provide expert insights and guidance to ensure that discussions remain focused, productive, and relevant to the overarching goal of generating innovative solutions;Has

    strong communication and public speaking skills

    and experience in connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds;Is a hands-on team player, results-oriented and with excellent organisational and planning skills;Has a high standard of ethics and integrity;Is willing to travel throughout the country;Has

    full professional proficiency in Spanish and English; verbally and written ;Is a

    resident of Colombia

    Starting date:
    15 January 2024Part-time position: On average we ask for a time commitment of

    2 days per week , however certain weeks will require more or less time.
    We offer a service provider contract for an initial period of

    7 months.
    You are commissioned to work as a consultant with a

    competitive fee and reimbursed expenses.
