Livestock assistant with experience in agricultural machinery


Duties and responsibilities:


Livestock assistant (80% of the time):

• Handle, feed and care for livestock.
• Ensure water is available and cattle are fed the correct amount and type of feed.
• Reproduction heat detection, donor preparation, recipient preparation, related record keeping.
• Monitor health and welfare of cattle; Recognize and treat health problems; Give antibiotics and vaccinations.
• Perform record keeping procedure manually and use computers.
• Perform other related duties as needed

Farm Equipment Mechanic (20%) time:

• Agricultural equipment maintenance work will include the following responsibilities: maintenance, repair and overhaul of farm vehicles, trucks and machinery

Equipment may include:
wheel loaders, tractors, tillage implements/seeding/harvesting equipment and other implements as needed.

• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders or saws; inspect mechanical equipment for damage, defects or wear; examine and listen to equipment; read inspection reports; tune or recondition engines;

- clean and lubricate equipment, parts or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order to enable proper operation; adjust equipment to ensure optimum performance; adjust vehicle components according to specifications; disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair; repair defective engines or engine components and worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts.


Salary:
$ 17.00 CAD - $21 CAD per hours - Depends on the experience

Work Experience:

• 2 year's previous experience in preventive maintenance, machine adjustments and harvesting procedures is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of livestock experience required.

Education required:
Education/ Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in one of these professions is required:

• Licenciatura o BACHILLERATO Técnico en Veterinaria
• Licenciatura o BACHILLERATO Técnico en Ingeniería Agrónoma
• Licenciatura o BACHILLERATO Técnico en Zootecnia o Silvicultura
• Licenciatura o BACHILLERATO en Tecnología Agropecuaria
• Técnico de Mantenimiento de Motores
• Tecnólogo en Agrobiotecnología
• Técnico en Agroindustria Alimentaria
• Técnico en cultivos agrícolas
• Técnico de Mantenimiento de Motores

de Maquinaria Agrícola

• Graduado de un curso de mecánica de equipos pesados, o mecánico de camiones pesados o mecánico de maquinaria agrícola.

Idioma requerido:
Inglés nível intermedio alto (speak, read & write)
