Business Need/Purpose of Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for Sales Manager to manage all sales aspects for our Middelburg branch.


The position will focus on ensuring the achievement of sales, operational and growth targets, promoting value adding solutions and outstanding customer service levels.


Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (mechanical / metallurgical / chemical) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Valid Driver's licence
  • Computer literate
  • Microsoft Office suite, CRM e.g. Salesforce (ERP Software e.g. SAP, Infor LN is advantageous)

Minimum Experience:

  • 58 years' related experience in a sales role within the minerals processing industry or similar

Key Tasks:

Including but not limited to:

  • To effectively recruit, manage and develop a high performing sales team for the region
  • Achieve regional financial targets per budget, including revenue, margin and working capital
  • Implement and manage key sales processes and systems to create a highperformance sales team
  • Implement and manage key sales systems including Salesforce, audits, key account plans, sales tracking to develop a high performing sales team
  • Onthejob selling skills coaching of sales team
  • Ensure growth of share of wallet for all major customers
  • Contract negotiations and management
  • Actively seek and obtain new business, including Services within Weir guidelines
  • Offer new products, services and value adding solutions to contracts
  • Establish and maintain credibility by having all customer requirements processed, expedited and supplied to comply with promised delivery dates
  • Increase customer engagement expanding call rates across the region
  • Ensure that all customer complaints attended to promptly and any cause of premature product failures investigated and solved through liaison with divisional and product managers
  • Improve customer centricity by changing from a selling products approach to creating feasible solutions for customers
  • Maintain data on competitors / replicators equipment and activities (reports to product managers to assist with the determining of future policies and strategies)
  • Prepare and conduct staff performance reviews with the objective of motivating and improving the standard of sales staff performance
  • Ensure effective sales administrative procedures by regular interaction between sales and administration
  • Promote basket of products through Integrated Solutions
  • Ensure that Integrated solutions, Brownfields & Greenfields are properly embedded into the branch and growth in revenue achieved
  • Assist debtors staff to collect payment of outstanding accounts
  • Improve cross sales across the entire product portfolio
  • Ensure that sales staff conform to company policies and procedures, including sales reports / field product audits / customer complaints
  • Month end sales reporting to be included in branch management report
  • Manage tenders and quotations, from quote to order, to delivery
  • Liaise with head office to resolve operational problems and queries
  • Timeously provide reports and data as required
  • Ensure Weir policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times
  • Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times
