For
Janssen LA North we are looking a
Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to be a therapeutic area scientific authority: Oncology.

You will be responsible for providing fair balanced, objective, scientific information and education to health care professionals and to internal partners as required by scientific and business needs.

You will be responsible for communicating the value of our products with clear understanding of the evolving treatment landscape.

The MSL will also provide high level research support for current and proposed studies in the therapeutic areas in which we are involved and can effectively communicate clinical trial data on a peer-to-peer basis with a defined audience of external clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in line with the overall stakeholder mapping.


We expect that the MSL stays up to date on current scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeutic areas of interest to become the trusted scientific partner.

As MSL, you are responsible for building and maintaining external relationships with health care provider teams and is accountable for execution of the activities described in the relevant country specific tactical plan.

This is a 75% field based role.


TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
A. Therapeutic area scientific expert

  • Continuously update knowledge of relevant products, treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, clinical activities and study data
  • Identify emerging scientific concepts with potential future clinical implications
  • Be considered and recognized as a trusted scientific partner
  • Ensure understanding of current scientific landscape through selfdriven learnings and internal/external trainings
  • Understand new data and information in order to draw clinically relevant conclusions and share with internal /external partners as appropriate
  • Engage in highlevel, peertopeer scientific exchange demonstrating knowledge of TA, clinical study data, treatment landscape and data gaps
B. Customer Excellence Management

  • Demonstrates ability to build positive and impactful relationships within defined geographic area
  • Strategic mapping, development and maintenance of external stakeholder network, including HCP and nonHCP partners
  • Build positive reputation of company and MSL team through relationship building
  • Understand each stakeholder's needs, key value drivers and role related to clinical treatment paradigms and patient management
  • Executes on an external stakeholder management plan in close collaboration with colleagues in Medical Affairs, GCO, RWE, patient advocacy and other internal partners
  • Through scientific interactions, champion the medical value of our products, contribute to market access activities, formulary discussions and development of new treatment paradigms and guidelines to benefit patients
  • Develop an understanding of peripheral and LS thought leaders and the health care environments in which they work
  • Attend and support local/regional meetings and conferences aligned with MAF plan
  • Prioritize local issues based on customer needs and embrace executional excellence and accountability

Proactive and reactive communication of medical scientific data to external stakeholders:

  • Proactive communication of relevant scientific information per strategy in accordance with health care compliance guidelines
  • Communicate nonpromotional general information about our company, as appropriate
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific queries from customers for approved products and products/indications in development, based on Medical Affairs and Medical Information documents integrating scientific data, and real world evidence, into clinical relevant practice terms to meet customer needs and request
  • Use digital technologies and new media to support proactive and reactive communication in accordance with regulatory and health care compliance guidelines
  • Provide compliant external presentations on disease area, study data and product information as appropriate

Medical Education Activities:

  • Assist in building medical education programs with scientific third parties (collaborating with Medical Education Steering Committee and Program Committee) to fill identified educational gaps and opportunities in collaboration
  • Identify/support/educate speakers
  • Ensure compliance with assigned medical education budget
  • E. Medical Affairs Leadership And Accountability
  • Maintain thorough understanding and competence in the following areas: TA and Medical Affairs mission, vision and operating principles; operating company scientific data and objectives, market dynamics and competitive landscape, health care compliance guidelines, corporate policies on appropriate business conduct and ethical behavior, MAF SOPs and guidelines
  • Serve as scientific resource for internal / external business partners
  • Provide high quality medical and product training to internal partners in a timely manner, appropriate to the audience and request
