The Legal Manager role is expected to provide legal advice and act as a Trusted Business Partner to internal clients in connection with a broad range of legal matters of the Local Operating Companies (LOC) In Colombia and LSP (Chile, Perú and Ecuador)


This role reports to the Senior Legal Manager and has front-line legal responsibility, working independently and aligned with the overall objectives and ways of working of the Legal department, for providing value-adding legal support to business units on highly complex business activities and projects with strategic financial/regulatory importance to GSK.


Your responsibilities:

Transactional work

  • Support business development transactions, projects, and advisory work
  • Firstline point of contact for all legal matters pertaining to business development projects.
  • Provide analysis and legal advice to all business units In Colombia and LSP (Chile, Perú and Ecuador) (General Medicines, Specialty Medicines, Oncology and Vaccines) and other relevant commercial and support areas.
  • Provide analysis and legal advice on transactional, commercial, operational, regulatory, R&D and manufacturing issues, integrating legal knowledge and judgment with strong business acumen.
  • Draft, develop, prepare, negotiate, advise and execute complex contracts and other legal documents
  • Review and provide legal advice on business, scientific, commercial, and sales/marketing documents/communications
  • Review and interpret pending or new legislation and policies or regulatory rules impacting the business to advise on compliance or strategy changes and conduct appropriate training to internal clients.
  • Anticipate and proactively support the prevention and management of legal risks
  • Contribute to the identification of legal risk and recommend actions to mitigate
  • Develop and recommend policies and practices on issues presenting potential legal risk
  • Provide Corporate Governance and corporate secretarial support for the legal entities in the LOC.
  • Conduct legal monitoring activities on a general basis and the auditderived preventative and remediation actions.

Litigation/Investigations / Intellectual Property

  • Provide guidance on litigation strategy and partner with external counsel to defend the interests of the company in litigation proceedings.
  • Manage litigation efforts and coordinate this work with the external lawyers.
  • Support the protection of intellectual property and freedom to operate in the market.
  • Assess and advice global and local clients towards achieving high transparency standards in the manner GSK conducts its business and protecting the overall reputation of GSK.

Your qualifications:

  • Professional in law with specialization or master's degree in the area.
  • 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field
  • Strong experience/knowledge in Pharmaceutical Sector and relevant laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in English is required
  • Good knowledge of the law and industry policies governing the pharmaceutical business.
