About the role:


  • The role will coordinate a team responsible of identifying patterns in merchants of Pay U LATAM through alerts designed to detect risks associated but not limited to credit, AML, TF, Negative Balance, Fraud, etc, by employing analytical methodologies to identify unusual transactional patters and following the approved procedures ensuring the quality and expected productivity levels of the operation. Additionally, the Merchant Monitoring Coordinator will play a crucial role in proactively communicating with relevant stakeholders (Compliance, Onboarding, Fraud, Finance, Commercial, etc.), ensuring the implementation of actions to minimize potential losses to our merchants and Pay U.

What you'll do:


  • Guarantee coordinated work between a team of Senior Analysts, Specialist and Analysts of Merchant Monitoring by executing performance and quality followups, coaching and development conversations and another leadership responsibilities.
  • Communicate with other areas to discuss solutions and action plans to avoid losses and exposure to PayU.
  • Support questions and escalations performed by the team and contact other departments to resolve them if required.
  • Review and follow up on productivity and cases distribution along the team.
  • Inform and escalate promptly any risk and unusual situation identified within the team to the Merchant Monitoring Leader to implement action plans in a timely manner.
  • Develop analysts' performance evaluations along with the Merchant Monitoring Leader.
  • Accumulating facts from investigations that will be utilized for Senior Management presentations, Compliance, Internal Audit or any other related stakeholder to determine the compliance of a merchant/transaction with PayU and regulation policies.
  • Ensure that all alert analysis and investigations are performed within timeframe provided in the policy complying with the SLA's agreed with all the countries and other departments of PayU.
  • Supporting efforts to remediate findings resulting from Internal and External Audit and quality examinations guaranteeing to comply with the determined KPI.
  • Ensure that all assigned task items are completed on a timely basis complying with the agreed productivity indicators.
  • Provide training and constant support to the team.
  • Guarantee the documents and procedures of the team remain updated according to the changes implemented in the operation.
  • Additional duties instructed by the Merchant Monitoring Leader in the collaboration and sometimes leadership of projects and special assignments, as required by the operation.

What you'll need to succeed:


  • Bachelor's degree on Engineering, Economics, Finances or management related disciplines (preferable)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Crime, Compliance or risk management in a financial services environment, ecommerce, payment processing or a combination thereof. Indepth understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC) and transaction monitoring.
  • People management experience is required.
  • Formal certifications in AML are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Spanish are essential (B1 and above).
