Overview:

The Accounting Senior Professional reports to the Accounting Director and is responsible for supporting the North America Region controller team to ensure the integrity of the financial statements for North America.

The Accounting Manager will work in partnership with the NAM controller and the GBSC to ensure integrity of the financials, and where applicable enhance processes and internal controls over contra revenue.

Role:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of Mastercard's key customer deals, revenue drivers at the market and product level and communicate this understanding with others
Prepare monthly Contra Revenue Dashboard and review with NAM Controllers team
Prepare the D&S SOW tracking and netting file for review with NAM Controller team
Prepare analysis of monthly true ups to ensure contra revenue is properly recorded
Prepare analysis of expired deal under negotiations to ensure volume support is accrued
Prepare analysis for contract management record for executed contracts and report exceptions
Prepare quarterly performance review file
Partner with GSCB to ensure contra revenue is recorded accurately and timely, includes review of monthly close file, incentive liabilities with debit balances, companion products are setup in MCBS and CRS properly, assets not being properly amortized.

All About You:

Degree in financial or related field or relevant qualification in business, accounting and/or a related discipline
Knowledge of revenue recognition and accounting under US GAAP
Knowledge of internal controls and operational procedures and processes; experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of accounting control implementation a plus
Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at the global/regional, local or corporate level
High attention to details and excellent analytical skills
Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Hyperion & Oracle experience preferred
Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant or equivalent a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
