A day in the life:
The Technical Project Manager spearheads the management of data engineering projects, focusing on the enhancement of novaCloud, our secure, scalable, and centralized data repository.
Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this role demands close collaboration with product managers and technical leaders to ensure the delivery of top-notch solutions across our data pillars.
You will craft comprehensive project plans, facilitate refinement sessions to break down initiatives into actionable tasks, and monitor the advancement of these crucial projects.
Moreover, you're tasked with maintaining clear and continuous communication with all stakeholders about project progress, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the development process.
Responsibilities:
Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
Develop detailed project plans for data-centric initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with overall business objectives. Coordinate resources, manage timelines, and adjust projects as needed to meet deadlines and deliverables.
Act as the primary liaison between the data team and internal stakeholders. Clearly communicate project status, milestones, and deliverable progress while managing stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts to implement the organization's data strategy. Ensure projects support data-driven decision-making and the strategic use of data across the company.
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes. Regularly assess risk factors and adjust project plans as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
Efficiently allocate and manage resources to support data projects.
Continuously evaluate and improve data project processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability of project outcomes.
Ensure all data projects comply with relevant data protection regulations and company policies. Oversee the implementation of security measures to protect data integrity, privacy and confidentiality.
Role Requirements:
Preferred Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical project management, specifically managing data-focused projects.
Strong understanding of data technologies and architectures, including experience with database systems, ETL processes, and cloud platforms.
Proven experience implementing Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, to deliver projects efficiently.
Strong skills in engaging and managing expectations of stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
