What you will learn and contribute to
As a Payroll Specialist.

your responsibilities include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.


To be successful as a Payroll Specialist you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards.

An outstanding Payroll Specialist should also have excellent people skills and a high numerical aptitude. This particular role will support Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Canada and US payrolls.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Gathering payroll related data, uploading/entering as necessary, and validating for accuracy all payroll maintenance resulting in pay implications and deliver payroll data for payroll processing to include but not limited to benefits, interfaces, time data, garnishments, supplemental payments, termination payments, etc.
  • Working with payroll vendor and team to solve system, policy, and/or payroll related items and projects when necessary.
  • Communicating payroll policies and procedures; researching and providing expertise to country specific payroll questions from employees, stakeholders, vendors, and other HR Colleagues
  • Establishing and maintaining company and employee payroll records as it relates to time data, earnings, deductions and tax withholding, while maintaining accuracy of system data.
  • Maintaining documentation of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output. Errors may have impact on function/project/customer.
  • Adhering to delivery deadline based on yearly payroll calendars.
  • Tracking changes in local legislation and initiating revision in local payroll processes according to the global approach.
  • Tracking down discrepancies and collaborating with other HR/FSS/Finance colleagues and employees.
  • Preparing and controls payroll related financial accruals (holiday, restructuring) and journal entries as needed.
  • Creating and controlling payroll related reports to authorities to include period based reporting and yearend tax filings.
  • Adhering to and performing SOX control related activities while validating accuracy and reporting deviations.

Your skills and experience

  • Proven experience of ate least 2 years as a payroll coordinator/lead or similar role
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll (such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act, benefits, LAT/US countries legislations)
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. SAP, PS, Oracle, Kronos, TM etc.)
  • Comfortable with Excel (functions, data, VBA etc.)
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bachelor in accounting, finance or relevant fields.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator/lead of ate least 2 years or similar role
  • Familiarity with payroll processes of North America or Caribbean regions
  • Familiarity with payroll processes of LAT region
  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll (such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act, benefits, Lat countries legislations)
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. SAP, PS, Oracle, Kronos, TM etc.)
  • Comfortable with Excel (functions, data, VBA etc.)
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
