Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager, Life Sciences - Latin America for our Pharmaceutical and Nutrition business in Latin America.

This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Commercial function. This position will report to the Sr. Vice President & GM of Life Sciences. Ideally, this position will be located in Sao Paulo or Mexico City.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coaching / mentoring / talent upgrade of the account managers
• Performance management
• Commercial pipeline management
• Key relationship management with key stakeholders at critical accounts
• Support contract negotiation / customer engagement with key accounts
• Coordinate / supporting global account management
• Responsible for managing Revenue, Gross Profit, Inventory, SG&A Costs
• Work with R&D in developing clear innovation / sales pipeline with key strategic accounts
• Responsible for Life Sciences (sales for all business lines)
• Developing regional growth strategy working closely with the global teams
• Active member of the global leadership team to shape global strategy
• Willing to take additional projects / assignments on as on need basis

In order to be qualified for this role, you


_must possess_ the following:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline
• Demonstrated leadership capability and a genuine care for people
• 15+ years of experience in the life sciences arena
• 7+ years of full P&L leadership, including global P&L management experience
• Be well networked and recognized as an industry leader
• Possess strong problem solving, business acumen and communication skills

- ability to lead and coordinate different functions and leaders with an integrative approach.

The following skill sets are

_preferred_ by the business unit:

• MBA or equivalent experience
• Experience in chemical/specialty materials or manufacturing industry
• Demonstrated leadership experience working in a global environment, including leading and engaging teams in a virtually.
• Having previous experience in matrix organizations
• Having experience doing business across Latin America
• Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese
