Salary information:


  • Teacher Annual Salary Range in USD$26,500 — $32,800
  • Administrator Annual Salary Range in USD$24,360 — $34,100

Savings Potential:

Approximately 25% of income. Employees as responsible for the Colombian taxes. These will be deducted monthly from the paycheck.

Also, each employee working in Colombia is required to file annually their taxes, these costs or extra payments are the employee's responsibility.

Local Sales Tax Percentage 7%


Retirement Plan:

100% full coverage on enrollment and tuition for the first child. 50% for the second child and 25% for the others.


Flights/Transportation:


  • Oneway return airline ticket at the end of your contract.
  • One round trip ticket during every school year up to COP to any destination(s). No cash reimbursement if not used or the total amount is less than the stipulated amount.
  • Transportation to and from the school, pickup at the closest stop

Setting in Allowance:

Settling-in allowance (paid in cash on arrival) COP 800,000


Accommodation:

The school's salary already includes a housing allowance.

School upon request can assist in apartment hunting, and if requested by employee, can also provide furniture if available (bed, refrigerator, washer, microwave, dining table, sofa, and kitchen utensils).

The housing allowance included in the salary is deducted from the paycheck and paid directly to the landlord. If the apartment cost is higher than the allowance the employee is responsible for the remainder rent value.

Teachers are directly responsible for utilities:
water, electricity, gas, internet, and cell phones.


Reoccurring Flights/Transportation:


As stated earlier, employees will be allotted one round trip ticket during every school year up to COP to any destination(s).

Medical Insurance:

Extended health plan including 24-hour service for doctor house calls and ambulance (medication not covered). Subject to insurance policies.


Dental Insurance:

Included in the health plan.


Disability Insurance:

Full coverage for accidents at the workplace. In case of medical absence, the school pays full coverage for the days out with a doctor's note.


Opportunities for Dependents:

If dependents meet specific requirements and skills, they could also be considered suitable for available school openings.


Job Description:


General Objective of the Position:

  • Carry out the practice of teaching, complemented by other corresponding academic, administrative, and disciplinary duties regardless of assigned classes.
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate the learning process of students according to the specific legal guidelines, the school philosophy, and institutional regulations; and carry out activities as required to achieve improvement in the quality of education.

The High School Teacher ́s responsibilities include:

  • Comply fully with the set objectives for the students, evaluating the activities carried out and planned continuously, comprehensively, and qualitatively, demanding punctuality of the students in their homework, class work, and materials provided.
  • Fill out daily class plans, unit plans, and evaluation forms throughout the year and keep them updated; comply with the registration and updating grades and observations in the program and properly fill out all the formats that are applied in the process of student formation.
  • Prepare classes for the assigned areas previously, and deliver them with academic rigor and professional seriousness.
  • Correct the schoolwork and relevant assessments promptly, including admissions tests and complementary actions in areas in the areas of responsibility, returning them on time to the person indicated.
  • Maintain timely and open communication with parents using the available means, continuously informing them about the academic performance and behavior of their children.
  • Provide support for reinforcement and remediation activities of the students
  • Ensure that the students behave according to the Student Handbook, promoting their formation in the areas of discipline, ethics, and good morals within the school community.
