Senior Commercial Manager

The Project

Colombia based project, gold and silver Greenfields project, circa USD$300M, three years EPC schedule, 20 years mine life, early engineering stage.

Key scope, full project lifecycle including land acquisition, environmental permitting, engineering procurement, construction, commissioning and ramp up.
Globe 24-7 has been selected to source the afore mentioned position because of our expertise and market knowledge.


The Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender packages, Requests for Quotation, tender evaluations and Recommendations for Approval
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts for award
  • Evaluate variation claims and issue assessments for review and approval by management
  • Manage contractor and vendor payment claims
  • Prepare and issue formal contract correspondence to Contractors
  • Prepare month end financial reports
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for incorporation into project wide management reporting
  • Manage earned value analysis of various work packages
  • Implement effective cost control processes and practices
  • Manage contract disputes
  • Manage compliance and prepare reports on commercial performance of the project

Requirements:


  • Minimum 15 years' industry experience within commercial project environments
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, accounting, finance etc)
  • Experience in Leading and managing commercial teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in the procurement and management of contracts and Purchase orders for largescale projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess and resolve large complex claims and variations through to completion
  • Advanced understanding of construction contracts and experience assessing variation and claims
