The Treaty Underwriter for the Property Latin America team is an analytical and creative solution-driver who puts our clients and data-driven decisions at the core of everything we do.
This team provides the insights and solutions to solve our clients' reinsurance needs, and it ensures that we write sustainable and profitable business.
This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your analytical and negotiation skills, to build internal and external key relationships, and to become an expert in modelling, data analysis, pricing and reinsurance underwriting.
Success in this position requires strong analytical and technical skills, a focus on serving clients' needs, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-focused environment delivering against tight deadlines.
Treaty Underwriter Responsibilities- Use data, analytics and insights to assess risk exposures of our clients' portfolios.
- In partnership with the crossfunctional team, establish profitable relationships with clients and uncover opportunities to maximize our impact on our clients' needs.
- Provide insights and productdevelopment support to clients to enhance their property book of business.
- Work and collaborate with a diverse group of internal crossfunctional teams which include client markets, business development, public sector, business management, structuring, solutions, among others.
- Support in the definition of our portfolio strategy, drive the implementation of portfolio initiatives and track the performance of our book of business.
- Serve as a reference point for (re) insurance market trends, risk landscape and regulatory developments that could bring new business opportunities are that could affect Swiss Re's business.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, preferably in fields such as mathematics, economics, actuarial science, or engineering.
- 3+ years of work experience. Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to transform data into actionable insights.
- Strong computer and software usage skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
- Teammate who lives Swiss Re's Leadership & Personal Imperatives and encourages others through passion and dedication.
- Innovative and creative.
- Proficient in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
- Ability to travel.
