Vantage has a career opportunity for a Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing facilities in North and South America, as well as alignment with our accounting teams supporting the European manufacturing facilities.


Our Cost Accountants are critical members of our finance team, who contributes to the achievement of Company objectives by performing complex accounting work, including establishing practices and procedures with regard to our cost accounting methods and activities, reporting to the Cost Accounting Director.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Analyzes the costs of manufacturing our products from direct costs of raw materials, freight in, utilities, production labor and overhead costs.

Executes on the agreed upon policies and procedures to ensure the standardization and consistency of the manner at which costs are accounted for and reported on globally.

Performs detailed analysis on inventory costs to assist in the development of standard costs and understanding of inventory variances (e.g. purchase price variance (PPV), material usage variance (MUV), absorption)
Monitors and measures inventory control procedures, such as cycle counts and periodic counts / verification of inventory quantities on hand
Reconciles and balances general ledger accounts, then researches and corrects any discrepancies
Prepares weekly inventory reporting including slow moving and obsolete.
Interacts with cross-functional teams including plant operations, procurement and commercial groups
Performs inter-company transactions and analysis

Ensure timely updates of standard costs across systems and databases (e.g., Business Intelligence) and transparent, consistent, timely communications to the agreed upon audiences for standard cost updates (e.g.

, product management, commercial, operations, sourcing, others as needed)
Collaborates with support functions and internal customers on costing standards and processes
Partners closely with the rest of the accounting team to monitor key financial performance indicators and makes recommendations to improve performance


Requirements:

B.S. degree in Accounting from an accredited university required
Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices, required to be in a manufacturing environment
Must have working knowledge of inventory cost accounting principles, including experience with standard costing and variance reporting (PPV, MUV, Absorption)
Familiarity with a variety of accounting principles, concepts, practices, procedures and GAAP requirements
