Senior SQL Database Administrator/Engineer


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and administer SQL Server databases across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Lead the migration efforts from SQL Server 2008 to current versions, including planning, execution, and postmigration optimization.
  • Implement and maintain database clustering solutions to ensure scalability and fault tolerance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify database requirements, design solutions, and optimize database performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to existing DBA teams, assisting in troubleshooting complex database issues and implementing best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform regular database backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor database systems to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in database administration and SQL Server management.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL Server database administration and engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server database management, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience in planning and executing SQL Server upgrades, particularly from SQL Server 2008 to newer versions.
  • Handson experience with database clustering technologies (e.g., Windows Failover Clustering, Always On Availability Groups).
  • Solid understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment, providing support and mentorship to junior DBA staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications such as

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate or

Microsoft Certified:
Data Management and Analytics are a plus.

$8,684,639 - $13,215,755 per month
