About Acumen
Acumen is changing the way the world tackles poverty by investing in companies, leaders and ideas. We invest patient capital in businesses whose products and services are enabling the poor to transform their lives.

To date, Acumen has positively impacted 309 million lives by investing $137M in 139 innovative, early-stage companies in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and the United States.

But investment isn't only about capital, we've been investing in innovators for years, connecting with emerging leaders around the world and engaging them in collective dialogue, moral inquiry, and skill building.

About Acumen Latin America
Acumen started operations in Latin America in 2013, with a focus on Colombia and Peru.

Our strategy focuses on benefiting communities that have suffered political, economic and social exclusion, with a focus on rural areas.

Our team, based in Bogotá, is continually evaluating investment opportunities and designing new ways to unleash human potential through capacity building.

About Acumen Latin America Pioneer Fund

Acumen Latin America Pioneer Fund has identified a number of companies that are addressing key issues of poverty in rural Colombia, and also helping to rebuild the social fabric, creating greater agency and voice for local communities, and demonstrating that formal community-owned businesses are a viable alternative to illegal activities.

These companies' business models are either owned and managed by communities in post conflict areas or promoted by socially minded entrepreneurs, in the agribusiness, energy and education sectors.

Since 2013, Acumen has invested US$9.0 M in 14 companies, which are addressing structural challenges of rural poverty and access to basic services.

About Acumen Academy in Colombia
Acumen Academy is the world's school for social change.

We aim to support a new generation of social innovators and leaders with the character and competence to build a more just, inclusive and sustainable world.

With 1,300 Fellows and Accelerator alumni, and 1.2M course sign-ups from 193 countries, the Acumen Academy community represents a new generation of social innovators and leaders committed to doing what's right.

Acumen's Fellows Program is a free, one-year leadership development program launched in Colombia in 2018 to develop an ecosystem of diverse, moral leaders who are committed to seeing their country succeed and navigate the challenges of the post-accord era.

We select ~24 local emerging leaders to join the Fellows Program annually.

Currently, the Fellows Community is a mirror of Colombian society made up of ~100 change-makers coming from 30/32 departments of Colombia, representing both rural and urban Colombia, all social classes, all types of organizations (for profit, non for profit, government, etc) three archetypes (social entrepreneur, intrapreneur and organizational builder), and more than 15 economic sectors.
