About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Analyst to join our Investment team.

You will work directly with our fund's two General Partners and Principal to identify and execute investments in exciting early stage companies across Spanish-speaking Latin America.

You will gain exposure to the entire investment cycle, from lead generation to investment execution and portfolio management, as well as fundraising and investor relations.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the growing, fast-paced venture capital industry and form part of a highly experienced and dynamic team.

Job Functions

Manage the funnel of new investment opportunities, including screening companies based on Polymath's investment criteria, keeping CRM uptodate and ensuring that deals are moving through the funnel
Perform due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including market research, market sizing, financial modeling, competitor/comparables analysis and industry deep dives
Assist in deal closing and portfolio management followup
Generate investment leads by building relationships with other VC funds, accelerators, entrepreneurs and other industry players
Own the fund pitch materials and data room, including the pitch deck, financial model and related materials
Project manage the final closes of our fund, working directly with our two General Partners
Assist in investor relations for fund LPs and Polymath's venture studio, owning the board materials and quarterly valuation reports, and managing the communications
Project manage portfolio meetings, engaging with key stakeholders such as Studio leadership and financial area leaders

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in VC, PE, IB, Investment Management, Finance, Startups or Management Consulting
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong research skills and experience, particularly gathering information in nonconventional ways in opaque markets
Solid proficiency in the Microsoft suite as well as the ability to operate industry CRMs
Excellent business acumen, understanding of financial statements, and analytical skills
Superior communication skills, including the ability to prepare decks and marketing materials
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to tolerate ambiguity and thrive under uncertainty
Selfstarter, independently motivated and cooperative in a multicultural team with a diversity of views
Entrepreneurial / growth mindset
Fluent in English and Spanish
